Roman - Gentse Strop
A 16th century old brewery from the Vlaamse Ardennen with one of their most famous names: Gentse Strop. The inhabitants of Gent refused to pay taxes to Emperor Charles V so the ended up walking in the streets (as "stroppendragers") with a cord around their neck to show they deserved nothing but the gallow. Still today, the noose continues to symbolise resistance against tyranny. This is a strong blonde beer for the rebels.
